Since 1995, Illinois Tech’s Interprofessional Projects (IPRO) Program has been a launchpad for innovation, bringing together students from all disciplines to tackle complex, real-world problems. In these hands-on courses, students step beyond textbooks and lectures to research issues, define challenges, and develop impactful solutions—all while working in interdisciplinary teams with faculty and industry mentors.
IPRO courses are more than just a requirement—they're an opportunity to think like an entrepreneur, engineer, scientist, or designer while gaining valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and professional ethics. From emerging technologies to sustainability, healthcare, and beyond, each IPRO project immerses students in a dynamic, project-based learning environment where they make a tangible impact.
Undergraduate students complete six credit hours of IPRO courses, typically between their second and fifth years. Whether you're designing the future of smart cities, developing next-gen cybersecurity solutions, or pioneering breakthroughs in biotech, IPRO equips you with the experience, knowledge, and network to lead in a rapidly evolving world.
