Time Limit to Complete a Degree

All requirements for a master’s degree must be completed within the twelve regular semesters (Fall and Spring) immediately preceding graduation. All requirements for a doctoral degree must be completed within  twelve regular semesters (Fall and Spring) after the mandatory doctoral advising session. If the twelve-semester deadline is not met, then a Form G701 Graduate Student Petition for extension must be filed by the student. The student's record will be reviewed for courses requiring revalidation.
