Change of Master's Thesis to Non-Thesis
To initiate a request to change from a thesis to a non-thesis option, the student will complete a change of thesis option using eForms for Graduate Degree Works.
A professional master’s degree program may require a project and a project report (e.g., course 594); however, neither the project itself nor the project report is considered a thesis. Unlike with a thesis, storage of project reports will be at the discretion of academic units and will not be in the university library.
For students switching from a thesis to a non-thesis option, 591 research credit can be counted as 594 project elective credit with a petition. A maximum of six credits may be applied in this instance.
